My birthday was on Monday and everyone kept saying how it sucked that I had to be at school all day on my birthday. So naturally, just a little, I couldn't help but feel like my special day was ruined. However, I reminded myself that last year my birthday wish was to be in law school this year. So, I have to say I was very thankful for the day that I had. My dear friend brought me a present and cookies to share with the class! I love her so much and would not be getting through law school without her! She is a wonderful and amazing person for so many reasons and this was just one more reason.
Last weekend, before my birthday, my mom took me to eat. It was so nice to have a decent meal that wasn't rushed. On my birthday, when I got home from school, I had cake and presents with my mom. As long as I can remember, she has always made my birthdays so special. I love her.
Anyway, everything with school is just a big blur. I'm constantly running on very little sleep. I did get all the questions right on my contracts quiz today, which totally made my day. It's the small things like that in law school that make your day. When you are constantly studying and your soul is lost in the depths of the law library, it gets hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The end of the tunnel for this semester is near though. We have nine weeks of school left. I am so scared about finals. Most of the assignments and quizzes we have are not for a grade. We have one chance to do good on the final and if not, you're done with. It's not like in undergrad either, where you could just drop the class. If you fail in law school they kick you out. So the pressure is on for sure.
On to some really exciting news though, I won more tickets on the radio! This is the third set of tickets I have won in the last few weeks. The first two things I didn't get to go to because of school work. This last set that I won are for a haunted house that is done by a theatrical production company near my school. I am definitely going to it. I just have to decide what day is the least busy of all the busy days to go. I have a few months to go so I should be able to tear myself away from school stuff for a few hours one night. I love fall so much and all the fun things that come with it. Since school started, I haven't seen my best friend at all, so I invited her. We went to this haunted house years ago when we were both still in undergrad. We had so much fun. I can't wait to go.
The most exciting piece of good news is, that my dad is coming home on Sunday! I have not seen him in three months and I can not wait to see him!. My life has changed so much since I saw him last. It's crazy to think about.
Ok so, I do need to go for now. I have to finish my assignment for legal research and then move on to criminal law. It's already 2:00 a.m. and I'm exhausted. I have to be up early too to bring my car to the shop too. Another sleepless night... It's ok though, I'm living the dream (no matter how much the dream is draining me). :) Until next time...
XOXO
Stay Fabulous,
LawGirl.
