So, vacation was so much fun. We really didn't do much but the time was spent well. Our hotel was awesome! They served snacks in the evenings, breakfast in the mornings, and pancakes from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. We took full advantage of that! LOL. My mom and I always love getting food and eating in our hotel room while watching t.v. It's kind of our tradition since we drove to Seattle a few years ago. On that trip, there was a little area in our hotel that had sandwiches, chips, vegetables, fruit, etc. Each night my mom and I would go to the front and get food and eat in the room. One of us also went to the hotel basement for drinks and chips. (That's where the vending machine was). I don't know why but we loved it and it has become our thing when we travel.
While I was unpacking the car, I put the pups in the room. When I was coming back into the room, the door opened. Yep, my crazy dogs figured out how to open the door to the room in less than five minutes of being there. They also, ironically, tore up the "Quiet Please" sign to hang on the door. We had to take them everywhere we went for fear of them leaving the room while we were away. It wasn't bad though. They were relatively (and I say 'relatively' very loosely, LOL) well behaved.
We took them for rides around town and down by the river and casinos. We also took them to an Indian village. We checked out tee-pees and burial mounds. We also did go to the mammy doll cafe. It was a disappointment. The building needed work and the food was horrible. The photos of the building were really great though. Overall, the trip was fun and we got a lot of rest which I am thankful to have had because life is about to get crazy! I am always sad when I come home from vacations. I didn't have much time to be sad this time though because last night was my "Kiss Off"
It was so much preparation in the previous weeks. I made decorations and my mom got me the most beautiful cake. It said "Here I come, Law School". It was bright and colorful! So delicious! The decorations were inspired by Pinterest. I painted 1's and L's Tiffany blue and glued them together at an angle. In the angle of the 1L's, I had blue mason jars filled with confetti that was shaped like fireworks and in each jar was a glittery (fake of course) peacock feather. I was pretty proud of them!
My family and friends came out and celebrated with me before going to law school! They will never know how much this has meant to me. The only thing that would have made it more perfect was if my dad had been there. I know he was sad to have missed it. Thankfully, my uncle took lots of pics (as I forgot to bring a camera) so I can show my dad. This night was one of the happiest nights of my life. I am truly blessed to have supportive people in my life and not just one or two but three tables full. I can never thank you guys enough!
Lastly, I did get my first assignment. I have a 74 page case thing to read. I will get started on that tonight as I intend to read it multiple times. I have no idea what to expect and I am getting more nervous than I was before. This is the last stretch before LAW SCHOOL! Three more days and I will be an official law student. I cannot believe it! My journey through law school is about to begin. My life as a lawyer starts in three days!
Anyway, I need to go. My mom and I are having coffee with my aunt and uncle before they head back home! I'll post again soon and let everyone know how the case reading is going. Thank you all for coming last night and most importantly, Thank You for supporting me and being excited for me. It's been a long journey to law school and a new journey is about to start! Until next time...
XOXO
Stay Fabulous,
LawGirl.
