My dad left two weeks ago to go back to Iran to care for my grandmother. I have been so worried about her and him. I video chat with him and he looks so tired. I know it is hard for him. My grandmother is still in pain. She has come home from the hospital and keeps having a fever. I pray that she recovers quickly.
I helped him pack and get everything ready for his trip. I made sure he had snacks for the airplane and went shopping for a few things for him to bring for my grandmother. I miss him a lot. There is also someone else who misses him a lot! I have been puppy sitting his puppy, Gabby! She is the sweetest, silliest, most loving little thing ever! Many warm kisses and puppy snuggles.
I'm kind of worried about the fires in British Columbia... My cousins live there; however, they are away. I just worry about them for when they return. I watch Seattle news every morning and the smoke has been so bad it has been traveling down to Seattle. Yikes!
So besides all of that, I built shelves! Yes, actual shelves! My dad cut the boards for me to the correct size before he left and I painted the wood and brackets. The color I used was a gray with a pink tint. It's really beautiful. It looks really good against the walls in my room which are a navy blue. I have red accents like curtains and such, so I painted the brackets red. Somehow, I managed to build them and they actually look really great. I built some near my closet as a shoe rack. The others are above the doors to the room and bathroom. I have baskets of stuff and books on them. I never thought I could do it. It was really hard LOL. It was a small victory for sure.
I decided not to do the law prep that I mentioned a few blogs ago. It would have just been too much to get done in such a short amount of time. I have been watching videos online about how to prepare for law school, study tips, and networking tips. They are helpful and I look forward to watching them everyday. Also, I am still doing really well learning the new language! I was able to have a very small conversation with my aunt the other day! Another small victory.
I just had a mini panic attack. Somehow my last blog was deleted but I got it back. For the few minutes that I thought that it was gone forever, I was in a state of panic. I love the last blog and worked hard on that one. No worries now, It has been restored. The lesson here is to always back up my work. I should probably remember this for law school.
Anyway, I will be school supply shopping soon. I may do a school supply haul. I am trying to wait for the new version of Windows to be released before I buy a new computer. I bought my laptop last November in hopes I would be going to law school now. Luckily, I am (I still can't believe it).
As of today, I have less than two weeks until I have to put in my notice at work. Each and every time I think of this, my stomach is in knots. I still have no idea what I am going to say. I can't wait until it is over. I know they will be upset. I just don't want to have that awkward conversation. I can't believe I am getting this stressed about it... not like me at all.
Ok, so that's it for today. This blog was kind of random but I just wanted to write a few things. Hopefully, things will be less crazy in the coming weeks before it gets really crazy! Until next time... :)
PS- I totally forgot to say that I cut 8 inches off of my hair! That curly mess had to go! I got a new sassy lawyer lady hair do! :)
XOXO
Stay Fabulous,
LawGirl.
